Looking Backing at the Legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

On August 28, 1963, a man stood in front of a podium, looking down at the hundreds of thousands of people who had come to see him, and in the shadow of the Lincoln Memorial, declared that he had a dream. More than fifty years later, his words still move the hearts and minds of people everywhere. The man with the dream was Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.!
Martin Luther King Jr. was born on January 15, 1929 in Atlanta, Georgia. Born to a reverend, King’s life was heavily influenced by Christianity. Growing up, King attended Booker T. National High School and he was a gifted student, having skipped both the ninth and twelfth grades. By fifteen, King was already attending college. In 1948, he graduated Morehouse College with a B.A in sociology and began attending Crozer Theological Seminary in Chester,
